We tailor our lessons to each student, taking into account their individual goals, musical interests, and learning styles. We teach our students using songs that they are familiar with and are relevant and meaningful to them.

There is ampul scientific evidence to show that the brain learns best when students are genuinely interested in a subject and find the learning process fun and rewarding. Students learn to work hard, but they also learn to work joyfully. The Music Library places an emphasis keeping the learning process being fun and exciting.

Our lessons teachers are professional musicians who are not only skilled and experienced musicians but also excellent teachers. Our teachers take notes on previous lessons, prepare for each new lesson and develop a customized, structured and sequential curriculum that fits an individual students goals, skill level and musical goals.

$65 for an hour lesson (billed monthly)

Bringing Music Into Your Child’s Life:
This class is designed specifically for parents, grandparents, and other caregivers who want to bring music into their child’s life and offers adults the tools, knowledge, and confidence to make music an everyday part of life at home.
What the class covers:
-Basic music making skills.
-A repertoire a songs, music games and stories to enjoy with their children.
-Strategies and games to help you create your own songs and stories with/for your child.
-How to support your children in their musical journey as they grow older and enter teenage years.
-The basic science and impacts a child’s development.
School Programs:
The Music Library offers several music programs for Elementary, Junior High and High School. We offer one time as well as long term programs.

Programs Offered:

Thinking in Sound is an early childhood music education program designed to develop foundational musical thinking through singing, movement, games, stories, and classroom instruments.
Students develop their ability to hear, understand, and respond to music while strengthening their singing, rhythmic, and cognitive skills.
The program places a strong emphasis on play and the innate creativity of young children. Lessons are often presented through stories and narratives, allowing students to experience music as something fun, imaginative, and engaging.

Beginning Ukulele is designed to give students an accessible and engaging introduction to playing an instrument.
Students learn recognizable songs while experiencing the joy and fulfillment of singing and playing music together. Repertoire is diverse and culturally relevant, incorporating modern and traditional music from a variety of cultures and time periods.
The ukulele is particularly well suited to young musicians. Its smaller size makes it physically accessible, while its similarity to the guitar allows students to develop musical skills that can later transfer to the guitar.

The program is designed to make learning guitar engaging, accessible, and rewarding for complete beginners.
Rather than beginning with isolated technical exercises, students learn through an experiential group-jamming format. Students begin by playing simple musical parts while the instructor provides the foundation of the song. As their skills and confidence develop, students gradually take on more complex musical roles.
The result is that within the first 20 minutes of class students are able to play a recognizable song.
The program was originally developed for adult learners in correctional facilities and was later adapted for younger students. This history has shaped the program’s philosophy: music education should be a creative process and a celebration of music—not simply a technical exercise.

Creative Songwriting & Music is designed for older students and focuses on creativity, writing, collaboration, self-expression, and social-emotional learning.
Students work together to create an original song based on a prompt or subject chosen by the instructor.
While students are introduced to the technical elements of songwriting, the primary focus is on creating a space where students can express themselves, share their ideas, and learn to value the perspectives of others.
The collaborative songwriting process gives students an opportunity to discover that their individual ideas and experiences can contribute to something larger than themselves.
The class can be adapted to a variety of musical styles, including rock, folk, hip-hop, R&B, and other contemporary genres.
Our Teacher
Dominick Restivo is a professional working musician with almost a decade of experience teaching in schools, correctional facilities and in one on one private lessons. Dominick’s passion for music is infectious and motivating and his energetic and personable teaching style makes learning music fun for his students.
